OptivoTrack

Three ways to connect your fleet

OBD plug & play, CAN bus integration, or hardware-free OEM Cloud. With Optivo you start where you are — not where we sell.

One platform, three ways to connect

OptivoTrack gives you full visibility over your fleet — position, consumption, driving style, maintenance, emissions — regardless of how you choose to connect. You can also mix modes: OBD on a car, CAN on a truck, OEM Cloud on a leased vehicle. All in one dashboard.

Mode 1

OBD Plug & Play

Activate a vehicle in minutes, with no modifications.

Ideal for

SMBs, mixed fleets, fast onboarding, vehicles without native connectivity. When you want to see results immediately.

Optivo's proprietary device connects to the vehicle's OBD diagnostic port. No wiring, no workshop: plug it in and go. The fastest way to start, working on virtually any internal-combustion vehicle.

What you get

  • Real-time GPS position

Vehicle location with route history and geofence entry/exit alerts.

  • Consumption & driving style

Fuel, level anomalies, braking, acceleration, harsh cornering. Driver and vehicle scoring.

  • Vehicle diagnostics

Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), engine telemetry, fault alerts via OBD-II.

  • DIY installation

Minutes per vehicle, no workshop required. Removable for vehicle changes.

Mode 2

CAN bus — Advanced telemetry

Beyond position: engine immobilization, warning lights, predictive maintenance.

Ideal for

Heavy vehicles, cold chain, anti-theft, fleets needing predictive maintenance or remote control. When OBD data isn't enough.

When position alone isn't enough. Direct integration with the vehicle's CAN bus (or via FMS gateway on heavy vehicles) unlocks deep telemetry and remote actions. The technical mode for critical fleets.

What you get

  • Remote engine immobilization

Anti-theft, vehicle recovery, end-of-lease and payment management. Triggered from the Control Tower.

  • Real-time warning lights

Specific fault alerts before they cause downtime. Predictive maintenance based on real parameters.

  • Specialized telemetry

Multi-point temperature monitoring for cold chain, door opening, on-board weight, PTO usage and other operational parameters.

  • FMS gateway for trucks

FMS standard for heavy vehicles: real engine hours, levels, accurate per-km consumption.

Mode 3

OEM Cloud — no hardware

Data straight from the manufacturer. Nothing to install, nothing to manage.

Ideal for

Leased fleets, modern natively-connected vehicles, mixed fleets across manufacturers, companies that don't want to manage hardware.

Explore OEM Cloud

Modern vehicles already produce telemetry — they send it to the manufacturer. With fleet owner consent and in compliance with the EU Data Act, we access that data directly. Zero hardware, zero installation: activate a vehicle using the VIN.

What you get

  • Activation in minutes with VIN

Nothing to install, no workshop. Owner consent is enough.

  • 30+ supported brands

Volkswagen Group, Stellantis, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Renault, Toyota, Volvo and more. See the full list below.

  • Native manufacturer telemetry

First-quality data: real mileage, consumption, vehicle status, position. No signal loss from aftermarket devices.

  • EU Data Act compliant

Connected vehicle data access under European regulation (Reg. 2023/2854), in force since 12 September 2025.

EU Data Act

Your vehicle data is yours. The EU says so.

Reg. (EU) 2023/2854

Since 12 September 2025, EU Regulation 2023/2854 (Data Act) guarantees connected vehicle owners the right to access the data their vehicles produce — and to nominate a third party (like Optivo) to receive and analyze it on their behalf.

In practice: no more lock-in to the manufacturer's app or imposed telematics contracts. Data follows the fleet owner, in machine-readable format under FRAND terms (fair, reasonable, non-discriminatory).

What changes for fleet operators

  • Guaranteed access to vehicle data, including for leased vehicles
  • Right to nominate a third-party data recipient
  • No lock-in with the manufacturer's platform
  • Live today on Stellantis, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, VW and others

Which to choose

Which mode is right for your fleet?

In a demo we go deep into your fleet specifics and pick together. In the meantime, a quick guide.

Scenario Recommended mode
Mixed fleet of internal-combustion vans, want to start fast OBD Plug & Play
Trucks or heavy vehicles with deep telemetry needs CAN bus / FMS gateway
Need remote engine immobilization, multi-temperature, predictive maintenance CAN bus
Leased vehicles or natively-connected fleet (VW, Stellantis, Ford, etc.) OEM Cloud
No interest in managing hardware or installations OEM Cloud
Mixed fleet of everything Combination: OBD on some, Cloud on others, CAN on critical ones

Modes can be combined. Nothing forces you to pick just one.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions on tracking

Can I track my fleet without installing devices?
Yes, with OEM Cloud mode. If your vehicles are natively connected (most post-2018 models are), we access the data directly from the manufacturer. All you need is the VIN and owner consent.
What does the EU Data Act mean for my fleet?
Since 12 September 2025 you have the right to access the data your connected vehicle produces, and to nominate Optivo as a third-party recipient. In practice: no more lock-in to the manufacturer's app or imposed telematics contracts.
Can I combine multiple tracking modes?
Yes. You can have OBD on some vehicles, CAN on others, OEM Cloud on others still. All data flows into the same dashboard. Useful for mixed fleets or gradual migrations.
How much does each mode cost?
Pricing is custom based on vehicles, data scope and term. OBD Plug & Play is the most economical entry point; CAN and OEM Cloud have different costs depending on complexity. We provide a concrete quote in a demo.
Which manufacturers are supported for OEM Cloud?
30+ brands across 12 industrial groups including Volkswagen Group (incl. VW Commercial Vehicles), Stellantis (Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Jeep, Alfa Romeo), BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Renault, Toyota, Volvo, Polestar, Tesla. List growing.
Is CAN bus only for trucks?
No. CAN is for when you need specialized telemetry or remote actions — engine immobilization, multi-temperature, predictive maintenance. It applies to vans and cars too, not just heavy vehicles.
What if I change the vehicle?
With OBD you unplug and replug. With OEM Cloud you update the VIN in the dashboard. With CAN you need an installer.
